The ashanti dolls (Ghana) are a highly stylized representation of the female body shape.
They are renowned for facilitating women's fertility and young women therefore traditionally wear them in their back before the wedding. Pregnant women also hold this wooden figurines tight in their loincloth to ensure the arrival of beautiful children.
