A tribute to Marcus Garvey, National Hero of Jamaica

The Black Star Line is a transatlantic steamship corporation established in 1919 by Marcus Garvey. For this precursor of the Pan-African philosophy, the launch of the first Black Starliner has been the crowning achievement of his action. It gave the Establishment an idea of what a united black nation is able to accomplish when under the influence of an enterprising and creative leader.
